Lighting Designer/Electrician

Description: The Englert Theatre and The University of Iowa’s Performing Arts Production Unit (PAPU) are in search of a lighting designer/electrician. Duties include all design work for the Englert Theatre’s season, plus electrical work for the Englert and PAPU’s electrics department. There may also be some design opportunities for The University of Iowa’s Department of Dance. The position is annual, ongoing, and pays about $400/week without benefits. It is the perfect stepping stone to a graduate lighting design program or electrician’s position in a professional theatre. Start date: September 1.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Englert Theatre is always looking for dedicated volunteers to usher events, run the box office, maintain the theatre, assist in marketing and development projects, and help spread the word about the wide range of community events taking place on the Englert stage.

Let us know your interests, and we will find a project you will enjoy, whether it is greeting patrons or changing the letters on our historic marquee! Short-term and long-projects available.
